Privacy Policy

The short version

• The text you choose to translate or improve is sent, over an encrypted connection, to our relay server (Cloudflare Workers) and from there to an AI provider (OpenAI or DeepSeek) for processing only.
• We do not store your text. No conversation, message or document is saved on our servers.
• No ads, no trackers, no analytics SDKs, no sale of data.

What data is processed

Text you submit

When you actively use a Chiaro function (Translate, Improve, Understand, Chat, Flirt, OCR translation, Live mode), the selected or typed text is transmitted to our relay and forwarded to the AI provider that produces the result. The relay does not log or retain the content of your text. AI providers process the text to generate the output; per their own policies they may retain API data for a limited period for abuse prevention (e.g. OpenAI: up to 30 days, not used for training under API terms).

Keyboard (ChiaroTraslate, iOS)

• Full Access is required because translations happen over the network. Text in the current input field is processed only when you use a Chiaro function.
• The clipboard is read only when you tap "Paste" in the Understand/Flirt tabs — never in the background, never by polling.
• Nothing you type is collected, logged or transmitted outside of the function you explicitly trigger.

Desktop (Chiaro for macOS)

Chiaro reads the text you select or the area you capture (OCR) only at the moment you invoke it. The clipboard is restored after capture. No keylogging: Chiaro never records keystrokes, and never touches password fields in Live mode.

Technical data

The relay keeps aggregate technical counters (number of requests and tokens per access credential and per model) for cost control and abuse prevention. These counters contain no message content.

Installation identifier (ChiaroTraslate, iOS)

On first launch the app generates a random installation identifier (a pseudonymous "user ID", stored in the device Keychain) and sends it to our relay with each request. It is not linked to your Apple Account, your name or your contacts: it exists only to attribute the 3-day service trial, the subscription entitlement and the usage counters to your installation, and to prevent abuse. It is never used for advertising or tracking across apps.

Support requests

If you write to us from the app (Settings → Help) or by email, we process the email address you provide and the content of your message for the sole purpose of answering you. Support email is delivered through Resend.

Credentials

Your access code or API key is stored locally in the system Keychain. It never leaves your device except as an authentication header to our relay.

Subscription and payment (ChiaroTraslate, iOS)

ChiaroTraslate Pro is purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple acts as the merchant of record: it processes your payment, manages billing, renewals and refunds under its own privacy policy and App Store terms. We never receive or store your payment card details — only a confirmation of your subscription status.

Legal basis (GDPR)

Processing is necessary for the performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Aggregate abuse-prevention counters rest on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Since we do not store your content, most requests are satisfied by design. For anything else: zazawu97@gmail.com.

• Il testo che scegli di tradurre o migliorare viene inviato, su connessione cifrata, al nostro server relay (Cloudflare Workers) e da lì a un provider AI (OpenAI o DeepSeek) al solo scopo di elaborarlo.

Quali dati vengono trattati

Il testo che invii

Quando usi attivamente una funzione di Chiaro (Traduci, Migliora, Capisco, Chat, Flirt, OCR, modalità Live), il testo selezionato o digitato viene trasmesso al nostro relay e inoltrato al provider AI che produce il risultato. Il relay non registra né conserva il contenuto. I provider AI trattano il testo per generare l'output; in base alle loro policy possono conservare i dati API per un periodo limitato a fini anti-abuso (es. OpenAI: fino a 30 giorni, non usati per addestramento secondo i termini API).

Tastiera (ChiaroTraslate, iOS)

• L'Accesso completo è necessario perché le traduzioni avvengono via rete. Il testo del campo attivo viene elaborato solo quando usi una funzione Chiaro.
• Gli appunti vengono letti solo quando tocchi "Incolla" nelle schede Capisco/Flirt — mai in background, mai in polling.
• Nulla di ciò che digiti viene raccolto, registrato o trasmesso al di fuori della funzione che attivi esplicitamente.

Desktop (Chiaro per macOS)

Chiaro legge il testo che selezioni o l'area che catturi (OCR) solo nel momento in cui lo invochi. Gli appunti vengono ripristinati dopo la cattura. Nessun keylogging: Chiaro non registra i tasti e in modalità Live non tocca mai i campi password.

Dati tecnici

Il relay mantiene contatori tecnici aggregati (numero di richieste e token per credenziale e per modello) per controllo costi e prevenzione abusi. Questi contatori non contengono alcun contenuto dei messaggi.

Identificativo di installazione (ChiaroTraslate, iOS)

Al primo avvio l'app genera un identificativo di installazione casuale (uno "ID utente" pseudonimo, salvato nel Portachiavi del dispositivo) e lo invia al nostro relay a ogni richiesta. Non è collegato al tuo Apple Account, al tuo nome o ai tuoi contatti: serve solo ad attribuire alla tua installazione la prova di 3 giorni, il diritto all'abbonamento e i contatori d'uso, e a prevenire abusi. Non viene mai usato per pubblicità o tracciamento tra app.

Richieste di assistenza

Se ci scrivi dall'app (Impostazioni → Aiuto) o via email, trattiamo l'indirizzo email che fornisci e il contenuto del messaggio al solo scopo di risponderti. Le email di supporto sono recapitate tramite Resend.

Credenziali

Il codice di accesso o la chiave API sono salvati localmente nel Portachiavi di sistema e lasciano il dispositivo solo come intestazione di autenticazione verso il nostro relay.

Abbonamento e pagamento (ChiaroTraslate, iOS)

ChiaroTraslate Pro si acquista tramite il sistema di acquisti in-app di Apple. Apple agisce come merchant of record: elabora il pagamento, gestisce fatturazione, rinnovi e rimborsi secondo la propria informativa privacy e i termini App Store. Non riceviamo né conserviamo mai i dati della tua carta di pagamento — solo una conferma dello stato dell'abbonamento.

Base giuridica (GDPR)

Il trattamento è necessario all'esecuzione del servizio che richiedi (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). I contatori aggregati anti-abuso si fondano sul legittimo interesse (art. 6(1)(f)).

I tuoi diritti
